Consequences of the delayed RIZIV approval

At the end of 2021 the professional associations and the health insurance bodies did not agree on a new convention in time. Here is how you can process the 2022 rates in Halingo.

The professional associations of speech therapists did not manage to reach agreement with the health insurance bodies before 31 December. The parties are working hard to reach an agreement for the coming two years as quickly as possible. RIZIV (the Belgian national health insurance institute) states that until then the following situation applies:

1. You are signed up to the 2020-2021 convention

• your current convention status stays valid
• the 2020-2021 rates stay valid

2. You are not signed up to the 2020-2021 convention

• your current convention status stays valid
• from 1 January the 25 % reduction in the health insurance reimbursement of the services no longer applies

At the same time VVL (the Flemish professional association of speech therapists) is calling on its members to index their rates anyway.

Consequences for the rates in Halingo

We are therefore getting questions from speech therapists about whether we can adjust the rates in Halingo to the rates the professional association has proposed. Unfortunately we cannot do that until RIZIV approves them. Because RIZIV does not recognise the proposed indexation at the moment, we at Halingo keep following the official RIZIV prices in our software. In this case the 2020-2021 rates.

Processing the indexation manually

There is a way for you to index by hand. You are free to enter the proposed indexed amounts when you create a session appointment. Please do bear in mind that we are not responsible for any reimbursement trouble that might follow from this between you and your client or other parties.
